In accordance with Federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture policy, Hop Growers of America (HGA) prohibits discrimination in all of its programs and activities on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, marital status, familial status, sexual orientation, or because of all or part of an individual’s income is derived from any public assistance source. (Not all prohibited bases apply to all programs.) Persons with disabilities who require alternate means for communication of program information (e.g., braille, large print, audiotape, etc.) should contact HGA at (509) 453-4749 x0.

Refund Policy

Hop Growers of America (HGA) reserves the right to refuse/cancel registrations at any time. If HGA refuses a registration, registrants will be offered a refund. Unless specifically stated on registration materials, HGA does not offer refunds for participant cancellation.

Privacy Policy

The following describes the information gathering and dissemination practices for Hop Growers of America (HGA) and its affiliates, including websites, forums, programs, competitions, and the American Hop Convention. It applies to all personal information processed by or on behalf of HGA. 

Information Gathering

When ordering or buying a membership, users are required to submit their name, e-mail address, mailing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This information allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status. Credit Card numbers and expiration dates are not stored by HGA. Credit card numbers are processed with a service that is fully PCI compliant.

We only collect information about you from you directly. If any of this information changes, please notify HGA so that we can update our records and provide you uninterrupted access to our services.

To better serve our users, we use “cookies” to customize your browsing experience. We use the cookie feature to store login information for members and site administrators. Some videos embedded in our pages use cookies to anonymously gather statistics on how you got there and what videos you visited. 

Cookies created on your computer by using this website do not contain personally identifying information and do not compromise your privacy or security. The cookies expire when users are logged out or exit our website. These cookies are not used for any purpose other than those described here.

Certain third-party service providers used by HGA, such as payment gateways, other payment transaction processors, and other cloud type services have their own privacy policies covering the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

Google Analytics and Google Translate both track users and may provide information about a user to third parties.

Event attendee information is automatically shared with sponsors and/or exhibitors unless attendees utilize the opt-out option provided during registration.

Membership information is utilized by HGA, contractors retained by HGA for specific projects, and researchers who are conducting hop research for member communications.

We utilize third party service providers, such as Cvent, that collect basic data for the purpose of registering exhibitors for our events.

This website can and may contain links to non-HGA websites. HGA is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of these websites.

HGA has no control over how these other entities gather, store or use your data. Although HGA is based in the United States, these other entities may not be, and it is possible your information will be transferred outside this country. If you have questions concerning the privacy policies of these entities, please contact them directly.

Use of Information

We do not sell any personally identifiable information we gather or develop about our members or visitors to any third parties, including but not limited to, credit reference or fraud prevention agencies, for any purpose. We use the information you provide to offer you services and products to improve your business and to assist you in complying with legal and regulatory obligations and requirements. We may monitor your personal data where permitted or required by law to comply with the law and prevent or detect crime.

By signing up for a newsletter on our website, purchasing a membership, participating in an online forum, attending or exhibiting at a conference, or otherwise volunteering your information to us you consent to our retention of your personal data and you will automatically be put on a list to receive communications from one or more organizations or web properties affiliated with HGA. We are relying on your consent to possess the personal data we gather during the registration process and after you become a Member. You are free to withdraw this consent at any time. If you wish to withdraw your consent to us possessing your personal data and/or you do not want to receive communications from us, you can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe or customize your level of interest in our organization and its affiliates through the HGA member site or by email communication at any time.

Security

Users are responsible for the security of their own user accounts. A unique, secure password should be created and used to prevent unauthorized third parties from gaining access to user’s data. HGA is not responsible for account breaches that are the result of a simple password or use of the same password on another compromised website.

This site has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We use industry-standard encryption provided by Let’s Encrypt so that all traffic on the site is protected using HTTPS to prevent unauthorized third parties from intercepting visitor data such as usernames and passwords entered on the site. We cannot and do not take responsibility for the loss, misuse or alteration of information by unauthorized third-parties.

If you provide us with your credit card information as part of a transaction, the information is encrypted. Although no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, the methods we follow are PCI compliant and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

We will retain your personal information as long as we have a reasonable business need to do so, such as providing products and services to you.

HGA retains the right to update or modify this privacy policy in order to reflect changes in the law and/or our privacy practices. We encourage you to review this privacy policy for updates whenever you visit our website.

We are committed to providing equal service and price to users who visit the HGA website regardless of whether they exercise their privacy rights under this policy. However, we are unable to provide users with our full range of services if we are not allowed to possess certain personal information. Members who request that their personal data be removed may lose their ability to login to HGA and USA Hops online systems, lose early purchase access to events and other benefits and will not be refunded for their membership.
